ECONOMIC PROBLEMS OF DIGITISATION OF AGRICULTURAL SECTOR ENTERPRISES IN WAR CONDITIONS
Abstract
The article conducts a comprehensive study of the problems and prospects of digitalization of the agrarian sector of Ukraine in the conditions of a full-scale war. The essence of the concepts of "digitalization" and "agrarian sector of Ukraine" as interrelated components of the transformation of the national economy in the conditions of global and military challenges is clarified. The current state of functioning of the agricultural sector during the war is analyzed, key risk groups (security, social, environmental, energy, financial, climate and institutional) that directly affect the possibilities of implementing digital technologies are outlined. Statistical data on direct and indirect losses of the agricultural sector are summarized, in particular damage to equipment, destruction of infrastructure, reduction of production and export opportunities. It is substantiated that digitalization in wartime takes on a dual significance: on the one hand, it is constrained by limited financial resources, loss of production capacity, and instability of telecommunications infrastructure; on the other hand, it acts as a key tool for increasing the adaptability, efficiency, and security of agricultural production. Particular attention is paid to the role of precision agriculture technologies, remote sensing, geographic information systems, unmanned aerial vehicles, automated control systems, IoT, Big Data, and artificial intelligence as means of compensating for labor shortages, minimizing risks, and ensuring remote control of production processes. The international experience of digitalization of agribusiness, in particular water conservation and irrigation management practices that can be adapted to Ukrainian realities in the context of the restoration of the southern regions, was analyzed. Priority areas of digital transformation of agricultural enterprises were identified, in particular the implementation of precision agriculture, drones, smart resource management systems, and automated water use technologies. It was found that the digitalization of Ukraine's agricultural sector in the context of a full-scale war is not only a tool for technological modernization, but also a strategic factor in economic stability, food security, and post-war reconstruction of the state.
